Rivers is still racing!

An email from Steve Rivers.

Thought I'd send a link to recent race results to prove that I am still alive and racing down here in Yorkshire, even if I am averaging 1 race every 6 months. http://www.nym.ac/results/fell/castleton_danby_2008_results.htm
It was 8 mile, 1100ft on crisp morning that soon warmed up, so lots of ice to contend with. I was 7th for a while, but died in last mile or so.

I might be in Aberdeen for a weekend in April, so will try to get out for the Saturday run and say Hello to everyone.

Carnethy 5

 

Carnethy 5 results from Saturday show some fantastic performances for Cosmics at the beginning of the hill racing year.  Dan Whitehead deserves congratulations for his 9^th place in a very strong field with 461 finishers.  Dennis got a PB – must be the new Innovates he bought just before the start.  Colin Larmour finished in 67.22 with John Colegrave not far behind and 14^th M50.  Anita must have battled all the way round with the Fife girls finishing 4 seconds behind Louise Burt but more importantly 3 seconds in front of Jocelyn Scott to take 1^st f50.  Mike Stone and Matt Brettle were the next Cosmics in followed by Colin Reid and then Derek masquerading as Rob Brookes.  Elaine Stewart was 4^th f50 while Gillian Clunas finished her biggest race yet as the 21^st F40. Claire Whitehead was also running but I’m not sure who she was masquerading as!
