With thanks to Janet Rennie for officiating, to Bob Sheridan and Dennis McDonald for clearing the course and to Forest Enterprise for access. A muggy evening with it fairly muddy underfoot.

Some big improvers such as Katie Parkin and Peter Larkin (and Gordon Scott but he doesn’t have an “arkin” but big losers including Alastair Leiper and Hamish MacDonald but the modal percentage was 100.

Dollar

Dollar was a British championship as well as a Scottish championship race this year which meant there was a good turn out of runners from all over the UK. The weather got sunnier and sunnier as we headed south and it was certainly a bit too hot for me when the race started (although Elaine and Lois seemed OK having acclimatised at Glen Rosa!). Lois took off up the first hill, with Elaine hot on her heels, chasing the Westie girls. Unfortunately I struggled on lagging behind all the Westies!

Next championship race is Moffat (L) on Sat 15 July - Bob is trying to galvanise support for a men's team and the women may well be turning out again. Creag Dubh is on Sat 5 Aug and is another British/Scottish championship event - would be great to have a good Cosmic turnout at this one.

Some great Cosmic achievements

Hi, don't know if you noticed the headline "Record breaking weekend" on the SHR website, but there were also some Cosmic achievements last weekend that should not go un-marked.

Jonathan Bellarby was 10th in the West Highland Way race - congratulations on a fantastic achievement!

Keith Robertson, Gary Gutteridge, Rob Irvine, John Colegrave, Elaine Stuart and Stuart Hunter all completed the Lairig Ghru race.

Anne Stone and Ashley Jermison took the Supervets prizes in the Ythan Challenge.
