Aviemore Merida MTB Marathon

I can't make head nor tail of the results on the Merida website, but it wouldn't be fair to miss out Rob, especially as he suffers for his sport and this was an excellent result!

Any chance of a race report to inspire those without wheels?

Ythan Challengers

Well done to the Cosmics B team (Ian Wilson, Colin Larmour & Mike
Stone) for winning the team prize at the Ythan Challenge last Sunday
& Ann Stone for winning 1st lady supervet.
1st Cosmics home were the Kevins Harper & Bruce. Unfortunately, they
didn't get a team together and so missed out on the prizes!

Dan 3rd at Ben Sheann

Well done to Dan who took 3rd place at the mid-week Bog & Burn race, Ben Sheann. It was a slightly younger than normal line up with no vets in the first 3 and a junior winning out right. Jamie Stevenson must surely be one to watch from now on! Angela Mudge also slashed her 1996 record by 5%, taking one and a half minutes off her old record. More info at SHR.

LAMM 2007

Unusually for the LAMM the weather was hot and sticky at the weekend so the navigation wasn't quite as tricky as normal but it also meant you could be chased from a distance! There was a close run battle between Dennis McDonald & Dave Hirst (Deeside) and Steve Helmore & Rob Coles who placed 13th and 14th respectively overall in the A class. Katy Boo with partner Gilly were 26th overall and 2nd female team in the A class. Elaine Stewart and Linda Smith were 3rd female team in the C class but Sean - what happened to you?!! Must be a story there!
Commiserations to Tim Nash who had a bad fall within the 1st hour of the event and had to retire - hope you're feeling better now. Apologies to all the Cosmics I've no doubt failed to mention but check out the full results on the LAMM website at www.lamm.co.uk.

Anita breaks F50 record at Glas Tulaichean

Anita set a new record for the over 50s females on Saturday in the uphill only Glas Tulaichean race. Keith Varney also had a great run coming 10th place, just behind Ewan Paterson who was 1st M50. Sounds like Keith & Anita will be in good form for the World Masters Mountain running champs in Austria in September.
