Well done to the 18 enthuiastic Cosmics who ran in 3 different Cosmic teams at the Devils Burdens Relay in Fife on Sat.

45 Cosmic Hill Bashers “B” 3:11:19

However, the results sheet does look a bit suspect (Cosmic A are on twice & various other errors) so check the results site for updates here.

El-Brimick 2007

A strong field at the top end of the race this year made Dan work hard for his 1st place but his final sprint left Des Crowe from Shettleston in second place overall (& 1st Vet). Jason Williamson put in a strong performance to gain 3rd place while Manny Gorman from Westies came in 4th. 1st Male Super Vet was John Colegrave. Sarah Dunn from Deeside was the 1st Female & well up in the overall placings at 11th. Anita Hamilton was 1st Super Vet and 2nd Female, Hazel Wright showed her running style still as a junior to gain 3rd Female and Elaine Stewart was 1st Female Vet.

There was also a good turnout with 12 runners for the junior race (up to the top of Elrick Hill and back) including a wide age range. Congratulations to John Henderson who was 1st Jr Boy (B15) and to Katie Murdoch who was 1st Jr Girl (G11). Well done to all the other juniors that raced especially for those who had never run a hill race before!

Aonach Mor Uphill Race

As usual for this race the start is always fast and furious but with the newly widened path you were able to run about 4 runners wide. This soon changed as you funnel into the first of many bottle necks. Keeping an eye on the battle at the front was good fun as David Rodgers and Dan Whitehead continued to share the lead. Soon the flash of Colin Donnelly came through the field and he took second place. The tree line brought strong winds on your right side and continued to battle us all to the finish. Times where slower than previous years and as always it is a good wake up call for the season ahead. Happy New Year. Jason
