Screel Hill Race

The 2nd SHR championship counter was Screel Hill last Saturday 18th April.  Ronnie Gallagher had worked his usual magic with the race selection and it was another beautiful day.  Course was virtually straight up and straight down, though with a bit of re-ascent near the top (very steep especially for those with less long legs).  Lots of boulders and tree roots lower down to make the descent interesting.  Possibly too interesting for poor Jon Ashcroft who fell and dislocated his elbow.  he was taken by helicopter to hospital but was well enough later to post the story on the Carnethy web site.

No Cosmic men there, but we had a women's team.  Claire won again so she must be leading the championship.  With myself and Lois packing well in 8th and 12th places we would have won the team prize had there been one.  Generally a much more low key race than our Clach na Ben so no tea, no cakes and no beer.  A good day out all the same.
